Here are some links and tools I reference over and over again:
Kimberly Wiefling’s website with links to her books and other very readable pertinent materials. My highest recommended program management resource.
MindJet software A nicely integrated mind-mapping software. makes it easy to research and capture ideas the way people really think, and with a couple of keystrokes and mouse clicks produce a report or slideset for easy communication.
GTD – Getting Things Done David Allen’s site for links to his books and courses. I like his productivity approach because it recognizes my lifestyle of being always connected with multiple discussions and fluid work life boundaries. I find that his techniques work.
Grammar Girl Mignon Fogarty’s site for correct grammar and other ways to improve quickly. I recommend this site because Mignon is always a step ahead of me on the latest and greatest technology. She leads by example for setting her very own career path that makes her happy and helps thousands of people around the world at the same time. Mignon also tackles a topic that many find dry and makes it yummy.
Alliteration Alphabet:
Antique Anger – When you hold onto a grudge too long, and bring up “that thing that went wrong” long past when it went wrong.
BB
Cultural Camouflage – Wearing the clothes and listening to the music your buddies do because that is the kind of thing they do. For example motorcycle riders should all wear helmets, boots and protective clothing – they choose to add fiery skulls and roses out of cultural choice. Distinguish the optional choices from the practical ones, and recognize that you can find common ground with many many people whether or not you choose the same cultural camouflage.
Detail Dial – In presentation sometimes you need to turn the detail level down for an over view, sometimes you get to turn it up and really delve into a topic. You should be ready to turn that dial based on your audience.
